History

The history of Pacific Shore Stones:

2002 Donald, Marco and Vinny have their first experience with the natural stone industry in Los Angeles. They come to understand the challenges of purchasing and importing high-quality stone into the U.S., and were inspired to improve the process by working closely with quarries in Brazil. Eager to try their hand in the industry, they begin brokering containers to distributors in the U.S.
2004 Pleased with their success at importing and delivering quality containers, they open the Los Angeles location to serve fabricators and consumers directly.
2006 The partners decide that Austin and the Central Texas markets offered great opportunities to bring Pacific Shore Stones' products and services to Texas. They launched their distribution center there as the largest indoor facility in Austin.
2007

April: To better control quality of the slabs, the partners open a processing facility in Brazil in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, the mecca of the granite world in Brazil. The facility enables the team to closely oversee the process of slicing the massive stone blocks into slabs then polishing and coating the slabs with resin for consumers in the U.S.

August: Following the success of the Austin location, the partners open a warehouse in San Antonio, TX to better serve that local market.

2008 Looking to expand more, the partners open a location in Oklahoma City – the largest in the area with a 25,000 square foot warehouse on three acres of property.
2009 After a successful opening in Oklahoma City, the partners felt strong about the Tulsa market and opened, at the time, the company's largest warehouse, a 30,000 square foot facility.
2010

March: Having established itself as the market leader in Austin, Pacific Shore Stones makes plans to expand its operation in Austin, increasing the warehouse to 33,000 square feet, making Austin the company’s largest distribution center.

August: Building on the company's successful expansion into the state of Oklahoma, Pacific Shore Stones decide to branch Eastward, opening a brand new 30,000 square foot warehouse in Little Rock, Arkansas.

September: Building momentum in California, Pacific Shore Stones reaches the state’s Central Coast by opening a new store near Arroyo Grande in San Luis Obispo, CA.

2011

This marks a year of great expansion and growth within Pacific Shore Stones and the partners eagerly anticipate the company’s future.

June: With residential sales growing in California, Pacific Shore Stones continues to dominate the California stone industry and the partners begin to expand Northward into Fresno, CA. At the same time, finding success throughout Central U.S. with ventures in Oklahoma and Arkansas, the partners choose to add to their central locations and open a distribution center in Memphis, Tennessee.

July: Seeing the potential for industry growth, the partners test market fabrication tool sales in Oklahoma through both the Tulsa and Oklahoma City Pacific Shore Stones locations.

October: Pacific Shore Stones ventures into the world of engineered stones, partnering with Compac Quartz to become an exclusive dealer and tests product sales through their Austin location.

November: Booming sales and a growing reputation for quality and variety allows the company to again expand and open a distribution center in Birmingham, Alabama, finally bringing its exotic selection of natural stone to the East coast.

December: The partners end 2011 with the opening of one final distribution center in Oxnard, California. The demand for stone from Pacific Shore Stones’ current customers deemed the 5th California location a necessity.

2012 The relationship formed between Compac & Pacific Shore Stones has proven successful in Austin. The two companies agree to expand the line to Pacific Shore Stones’ California market.
